I continue to work to determine if the book PushBack has legs. The book has been available for almost six months and I still haven’t reached a clear conclusion. There have been very good and very bad reviews so the reviews have not been conclusive. Although the first chapter is a grabber, it took some readers a while to get into the story. A number of readers considered the story scary, in part because the story line, if true, would affect their lives in a personal and unpleasant way. On the positive side the story has been called timely, imaginative and engrossing.
My focus is being interrupted by the replacement of both my desktop and laptop computers. My desktop computer is over seven years old and although I have expanded the ram to 4meg it is still not adequate for the amount of data that is sloshing around the web these days. Seven years is as long as I have ever kept a personal computer so it was not unexpected.
On the personal side, the snowy winter has been great for cross country skiing. Our family discovered cross country skiing about forty years ago and I have been a fan ever since. I have never, during that time, seen a winter as good for the sport in the Twin city area as it has been this winter. We have a regional park about two miles as the crow flies from where we live, about three miles by car, and we have been getting there three-four times a week. An hour or two of skiing is more than enough exercise for the average person.
